Elena Verlee: PR In Your Pajamas

I just had a fantastically fun photo shoot with Elena Verlee.  Elena is an International PR maven, serial entrepreneur, author, coach and my friend.  Elena arrived at the studio near the end of a commercial shoot I was wrapping up.  We managed to get in a number of gorgeous shots of Elena for her blog, Facebook and Twitter!  What started out to be just a few simple head shots for her blog, turned into an hour of incredibly fun filled photo shoot.  Instead of standard business shots, Elena's real personality came through.  We got completely spontaneous and just stated playing with poses, textural backgrounds and different angles.  To top it off,  Elena brought along a gorgeous leather wrapped bracelet with inspiring words that wrap all the way around her wrist - a perfect detail to highlight the essence of what she is all about!

Check out her website for truly brilliant ideas and inspiration for all of you entrepreneurs out there!

Puppy Love: Magda + Zoey

Photographing people with their pets is almost always my going to be one of favorite shoots.  In my experience almost 100% of the time, people are at their best during a photo shoot with their pet.  Truly their most natural and happy expressions come about.   Proof, I believe that the bond developed between people and their pets is simply true unconditional love + joy...

Martin Herlan, Ideal K9

What an amazing challenge this was... I believe Martin is the best dog trainer in the New York City area. He's got this fantastic ability to communicate with dogs and translate that to their owners. When we began planning this photo shoot it sounded like an amazing idea and I knew this might be the most challenging photography project I could have ever imagined. But Martin proved he is truly a pro and I believe this photo is proof that he is uniquely gifted in the way he can successfully work with so many different kinds of dogs.

Nuit Blanche Tours: Paris, France

This photo was taken on a beautiful little street somewhere in Paris... Karen Henrich is the founder of Nuit Blanche Tours in Paris, France. Nuit Blanche specializes in tours that take you & your friends on an unforgettable and personal journey through 'the city of light'. During the time I was living in London, I took a ride on the Eurostar and got off at Gare du Nord in Paris to meet Karen Henrich. She needed some media photos for her business. Instead of standard studio shots, we ended up just strolling through the city, taking photos whenever the moment struck. We spent two days just taking photos of all the fun and amazing things you can do, eat and drink in Paris. Over the next couple of years we continued to meet in Paris and photograph what was new and exciting as well as continuing to explore many amazing places, passage ways, boutiques, bistros and cafes. This particular photograph of Karen is my favorite of all the shots we did over two years. It really seems to capture Karen's journey which started in Paris and now takes her around the globe as the CEO of Chic Walks the 'Step-by-step Shopping Walks" for fashionistas looking for the best shopping across the globe. www.chicwalks.com

ESCAPE Magazine: Mandarin Oriental Resort: Maya Riviera, Mexico

El Nido Resort: Palawan, Philippines

Perhaps one of my most memorable trips. One fall day in Hong Kong, writer Sarah Clark and I boarded a flight to Manila to cover a story on a little environmentally-friendly resort called El Nido, located on Lagen Island in the Philippines. From Manila, our journey took on teeny little airplane to a remote airport where we took a rustic bus to a boat that finally took us to our destination. From the moment we arrived, I realized we were on an almost untouched piece of tropical paradise... The idea of relaxation was short lived. At 6 am the next morning got a pretty rigorous schedule to experience just about everything fantastic the resort had to offer, ha ha what a job! Only a couple tough things, hiking up a mountain with all my camera equipment was definitely at the top of my tough list. It taught me that its best to really get a lightweight camera for these kinds of trips (if I had only had the Canon G10 then), try to ignore giant bugs that cross your path and that hiking in the tropics is not as easy as one might think. All in all the experience was fantastic. Not only was Sarah the writer, but she was also the model and now happy to say is my friend. I could not have ever imagined how many good things getting a camera could bring to my life.
